Robert D. O'Dell

Robert D. O’Dell, 76, of Brighton Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver, with his loving family and friends by his side.

Born January 24, 1940 in Rochester, Bob was a son of the late Howard and Helen O’Dell. A resident of Brighton Township for 50 years, he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan Fouse O’Dell.

An avid reader with a love of American history and a passionate sports fan, Bob retired as an accountant from the Housing Authority of Beaver County, having previously worked at the blooming mill of J & L Steel, Aliquippa. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he was also an active member and church historian for Faith Community United Methodist Church, Rochester, a member of the F & AM, Rochester Lodge #229, and a key contributor and current board member of the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation Museum.

Bob leaves one daughter, Sarah O’Dell and her husband, Daniel Burgess, Cresskill, NJ, two brothers, William A. O’Dell, Rochester, and Terry A. (Kimberly) O’Dell, Center Township, two stepbrothers, Kenneth and Thomas Bair, both of MA, two grandchildren, Charlie and Jane Burgess, and a brother-in-law, Sam (Barbara) Fouse, NC.

Friends will be received Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a service, conducted by Bob’s close friend, Reverend Carl C. Neely, will take place Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
