Robert G. Shafer

Robert G. Shafer, 84, of Chippewa Twp., passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Twp.

Born March 5, 1938 in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Raymond and Kathryn Shafer. A resident of Chippewa Twp. for over 50 years, Robert retired from Conrail after nearly a 26-year career. He was a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees (NARV).

Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 58-years, Janet Besong Shafer, Chippewa Twp., sons, Dennis (Connie) Shafer, Enon Valley, Michael Shafer, Chippewa Twp., and Marty (Jodi) Shafer, New Brighton; a brother, David Shafer, Brighton Twp.; and seven grandchildren, Andy, Hannah, Logan, Emily, Nicholas, Karleigh, and Brayden Shafer.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Brashears.

Friends will be received Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society.
