Robert Reed Singo

Robert Reed Singo of Brighton Township passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Born in Acosta, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles Ross and Nellie Zoe (Stiffler) Singo on November 8, 1940, Bob was a faithful Christian husband, father, and grandfather who loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his darling wife Jeanne (Douglas) Singo in 2007; his brothers: Merle Singo, Theodore Stiffler, Kenneth Barbour, Calvin Singo, and Charles Singo; four sisters: Mildred Singo, Shirley Jean Singo, Ruth Kline, Alma Young, and Emma Weyand, brothers and sister in law: Charles E. and Nancy Douglas, R. Duane Douglas, and James P. Douglas.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Julia (Jody) and Guy (Skip) S. Shugert, Jr.; his beloved grandsons Guy (Skipper) and Douglas Reed Shugert; devoted sisters Delores Pack and Dorothy Deltino; sisters in law Carol Lee Douglas and Donna Douglas; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews, former St. Joe colleagues, neighbors, and friends from First Presbyterian Church Beaver and Sylvania Hills Baptist Church.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering, he was employed by the former St. Joe Minerals Company after serving his country in the United States Air Force. As a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Beaver, he served as a deacon and member of Stephens Ministry. Most recently he attended Sylvania Hills Baptist Church in Rochester.

Bob was a man of great faith and strong convictions. He was a member of the Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society, graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course, life member of the Monaca American Legion, Beaver County Historical Society, Beaver County Genealogical Society, Senator John Heinz History Center, and he contributed to many missions as well as children’s and veterans’ charities. He loved working crossword puzzles, going out to dine with friend Peg Buck and sister Dot Deltino, and spoiling his grandsons Skipper and Doug. He was blessed with good friends and wonderful neighbors who looked out and cared for him.

Friends will be received in the Noll Funeral Home, 333 Third St., Beaver, on Friday, October 21 from 12 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
