Rudy Yovich, Sr.

Rudy Yovich, Sr., 81, of Midland passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley – Beaver, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 15, 1934 in Midland, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mildred Livada Yovich and had lived in the area his entire life. A 1952 graduate of Midland High School, Rudy retired from Crucible Steel after 31 years of service. He also worked as the Head of Maintenance for the Midland School District and particularly loved working with the students at Neel Elementary where he would delight them as Santa Claus at Christmas.

In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Theodore, Nicholas, and Milan Yovich, and three sisters, Mary Butler, Neddie Yovich, and Zorna Rasillo.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty Jean Yovich, three children, Debra Yovich, Diana (Jeff Johnston) Hunter, and Rudy (Timera) Yovich, Jr., along with his grandchildren, Samantha and Chelsea Granito, and Nicholas and Lauren Yovich, and great-grandchildren, Jameson Nichol and Ryder Fraser. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends will be received Friday, April 8, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
