Russell Robert “Flub” King, 82, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, formerly of Vanport, passed away on February 14, 2019 in Florida surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. Born October 6, 1936 in Rochester, Pa, he was a son of the late Russell and Katherine King, Flub had worked as a police officer for 30 years for the Beaver Police Department. He loved the town of Beaver, especially attending the Beaver Car Cruise showing off his 1969 Mustang. Russell was an avid racer and builder of unique jet vehicles. He also loved spending time with family and friends, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Timothy “Ace” King in 2018, and two infant sons.
Russell will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 64 years, Nancy King; one son, Thomas (Christine) King of Beaver ; two daughters, Tammy (Bruce) Prentice of Monaca , and Tracy (John) Veon of Monaca; a daughter-in-law, Erin King of Vanport; three brothers, William (Lorene) King of North Carolina, Thomas (Mary) King of Monaca, and Douglas (Teri) King of Florida; sister, Kathy (Bob) Bianco of Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ellen and John Roberts; grandchildren, Christopher and Timmy King, Justin and Jordan Prentice, Jenna and Cory Cumming, Taylor Veon and Brandon and Andrew King; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
