Sharon L. Cottrill

Sharon Lou Cottrill, 86, originally from Parkersburg, WV, passed away February 22, 2021, at Sherwood Oaks Assisted Living. She was born March 4, 1934 in Parkersburg WV, the daughter of the late Howard S. and Edith (Reed) Parker. Mrs. Cottrill began working while still in junior high school and worked hard her entire life. She enjoyed spring cleaning her house every week and spent many hours helping family and friends over the years. She loved and supported her husband and family in her own distinctive loving way. She was loved and will be missed. She wrote as part of her statement of faith that she wanted her obituary to say “I’ve gone to my heavenly home with God and to be with my beloved husband.” Survivors include her son and daughter: Dale Cottrill (Beth) of Beaver, PA. and Kim McQuate (Glen) of Abbington, VA, one sister: Beth Rossi of Philadelphia, PA, two brothers: Don Parker of Parkersburg, WV and David Parker of Marietta, OH. She also leaves behind four grandchildren whom she loved: Sara Baldauff, Lara McGill, William McQuate and Alison DeRatt, and six great grandchildren Paul Baldauff, Andrew Baldauff, Grace Baldauff, Taylor Baldauff, Ryder Deratt and Talullah McGill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Millard Dale Cottrill, three sisters and a brother. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all activities are private. In following Mrs. Cottrill’s wishes, she will be cremated and her remains interred in the Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum beside her husband.
