Sharon Rose Sunny, 67, of Beaver, traveled on to her heavenly home, Monday, November 18, 2019. With loving comfort and care from Good Samaritan Hospice, Sharon peacefully passed with dignity and God’s grace following a brief and debilitating illness.
Born December 4, 1951, Sharon was the loving daughter of the late Ruth Carver Sunny and Julius Sunny, growing up in a Christian home with parents who claimed the Gospel as their own and belief in God’s mercy and ultimate control in every situation.
Sharon was a caring and compassionate person who loved God, life, her family, and friends, and all of the many, many “fur babies” she rescued and adopted over many years.
Sharon graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1969, and graduated with a Diploma in Practical Nursing from the Community College of Beaver County, and a B.A. in Education from Central Bible College, MO.
She spent the last 26 years as an R.N. and later, an R. N. Case Manager at Heritage Valley Beaver, and was previously employed by the Department of Mental Health in the State of Missouri, taking pride in her work and always doing for others in both her professional career and personal life.
She volunteered and was very actively involved in Hearts Promise Sheltie Rescue, New Castle, and the Beaver County Humane Society.
Pentecostal by faith, Sharon was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Beaver Falls, and a past Youth Sunday School Teacher. She had a strong Christian belief knowing that through believing in Him, and following His teachings, she would inherit eternal life.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brothers, Baylor G. Sunny, Donald R. Sunny, and John M. Sunny, sisters-in-law, Kathy Sunny, and Barbara Sunny, and great niece, Cassidy Landry.
She is survived by her brother Rev. Frank (Karen) Sunny, Feeding Hills, MA; sisters-in-law, Joanie Sunny, Beaver Falls, and Carol Sunny, KY; step-sister, Cindy Smrekar Bennett, Center Twp; eleven loving nieces and nephews; and eleven great nieces and nephews; along with her “fur babies”, Marcy Mae, Frankie, and Clara. She so enjoyed being “Grammy” to her sweet little Eva. She also leaves many, many friends, all of whom made a wonderful impact on her life.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Sharon’s name, may be made to Hearts Promise Sheltie Rescue, 219 E Meyer Avenue, New Castle, PA 16105, to the attention of Mike Lamont.
When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say; it is well, it is well, with my soul.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Beaver Assembly of God, 500 Dutch Ridge Road, Beaver, PA 15009.
