Shirley Henry

Shirley “Joanne” Henry, 88, of Brighton Twp. passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, February 15, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 11, 1929 in Tarentum, she was a daughter of the late Alex Wesley and Ruth Naomi (Hutchinson) Hoyle. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley also worked as a welder at Taylor Craft and Westinghouse. She then went on to work at the Geriatric Center, and the Sisters of Saint Joseph Convent. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and will be remembered by her family for her green thumb and love of lottery scratch offs.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 60 years, David M. Henry, Jr., Brighton Twp.; her son, Gregory Henry, FL; daughter Terri Young, Brighton Twp.; one brother, Alex (AnnaMae) Hoyle, Beaver Falls; three sisters, Doris Marco, Derry, PA, Helen (Ted) Lechok, Midland, and Nancy Ray, Derry, PA; one cherished grandson, Gy Sgt. David Young, Camp Lejune, NC; and one sister-in-law, Glenda Hoyle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Richard, Walter, and John Hoyle.
