Shirley Shannon Patterson, age 84, of Beaver, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017.

Beloved wife of the late James Patterson, loving mother of Dean and grandmother of Paul and Katherine.

Survived by her daughter-in-law, Paige; her nephew, Mike and his wife Beth, and her niece, Kathleen and her husband Tom and their families. Also survived by her dear friends, Gloria, Anita, Ellen, Paula, many other friends, and her honorary granddaughter, Jenna.

Preceded in death by her brothers, Lee and John Shannon.

Mrs. Patterson taught English literature and composition at Center High School until her retirement. Shirley loved life and lived every day to its fullest. She touched the lives of countless people. She was a true original. There will never be another quite like her.

Friends will be received Wednesday, March 1st, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2nd, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Beaver Cemetery.
