Thelma Byerle , 85, of Brighton Township, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at her home. Born August 9, 1931 in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Bonita Shaffer Hamilton. Upon graduating from Geneva College, she made her home in Beaver, with her husband, Merle “Bud” Byerle. Her passion was to teach kindergarten which she did for 41 ½ years in Beaver. Thelma greatly missed her vocation and former students when she retired. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle, and her sister Susan Best. Thelma is survived by her sister Linda (Paul) Moore, Raleigh, NC; and 9 nieces and nephews, Jon (Marie) Best, Jr, Garison, NY, Bradley (Stephanie) Best, Annapolis , MD, Bonnie (Mark) McCracken, Burford, GA, Matthew (Ann Marie) Moore, West Bend, WI, Melissa (Keith) Paul, Oxford, NC , Tom (Donna) Jackson, New Brighton, Lynn (Joe) Funari, Ellwood City, Karen Fritsch, New Brighton, and David (Evelyn) Majestro , VA. She also leaves behind two brothers-in law; Rich Majestro, New Brighton and Jon Best Sr., Palm Harbor, FL. As per Thelma’s wishes, services and interment at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. The family would like to thank Tom and Donna, along with Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver for the loving and compassionate care given Thelma.
