Thomas Gimbus

Thomas S. Gimbus, 80, of Ohioville, passed away on August 3, 2019 at Heritage Valley Sewickley, after a lengthy illness, with his beloved wife and son by his side.

Tom was born on July 6, 1939, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Steven and Helen Kovalesky Gimbus. He was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish in Midland, and also belonged to the Cruzin Few Car Club, Midland Sportsman Club, and Corvettes of PA, Beaver County. A 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School in Midland, Tom loved to hunt, fish, and especially drive his Corvette.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Modany  in 2013.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 26 years, Jeannette Gentile Gimbus; a daughter, Donna Aeppli of Philadelphia; a son, Marty (Mary Jo) Gimbus of Ohioville; two step-sons, John (Christine) Kazman of Midland, and Anthony (Helena) Kazman of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Walter Gimbus; sisters, Stephanie (George) Sosack, Eleanor (Bobby) Galloway, and Janet (Bob) Diamond; grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, D.J. Aeppli, Jamie (Ty) Stiffey, Kelli (Zach) Zachodni, Tiffany Bartoles, Laura (Ryan) Knisley, Sara Kazman, and John Kazman III; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Beau Knisley, Evan Zachodni, and Maddie and Ben Stiffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Tuesday August 6, 2019 from 3:00pm until 8:00 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home Inc., 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland PA 15059. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Kim Schreck on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at 10:30am at Saint Blaise Roman Catholic Parish, 772 Ohio Ave, Midland, PA 15059.
