Thomas E. Gomory

Thomas E. Gomory, 89, of Brighton Twp, passed away early Friday morning, February 5, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born December 20, 1931 in Pittsburgh, he was the youngest of 7 children of the late Joseph and Louise Gomory and had been a resident of Brighton Twp. since 1959. At the age of 75, tom retired as a structural steel draftsman after working may years at Livi Steel, OH, and American Bridge, Ambridge. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Saints Peter and Paul Church, Beaver and had served with the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with family and one of his passions was staying active with exercise and yardwork. Tom enjoyed reading and in his younger days, was an avid racquetball enthusiast and gardener. Preceding him in death besides his parents were 3 brothers, J. Richard, James and Robert; and 3 sisters, Alma, Elizabeth and Esther. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Christine Cable Gomory; a son, David (Amy) Gomory, Beaver; 3 daughters, Paula (David) Maier, Lancaster, OH, Karen (George Kieszek) Gomory, McCandless Twp., and Susan Bishop, Hermitage; and 5 grandsons, Coulter, Tyler, and Luke Bishop, and Nathan and Jacob Maier. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 10, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME, INC, 333 THIRD ST., BEAVER. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Our Lady of the Valley Parish at 10:30 a.m., followed by private interment at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
