Victor E. Kovalesky

Victor Edward Kovalesky, 79, of Industry, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born Dec. 23, 1936, in Midland, a son of the late Walter S. and Anna (Kuntz) Kovalesky, he was a resident of Industry and Midland all his life. Victor was a graduate of Midland High School and retired in 1982 from Crucible Steel Company, Midland, where he worked for 28 years. He was a member of St. Blaise Parish and the Knights of Columbus, Midland. Victor loved his vegetable garden, cutting grass, attending weekly dances with his wife, and weekend bicycling with the St. Blaise Bicycling Club. He is survived by his cherished wife of 54 years, Carolyn Sue (Gailey) Kovalesky, and two children, a son Jeffrey E. Kovalesky (Susan Shiring) of Collegeville, and a daughter, Cindy A. Kovalesky of Beaver. He was the proud grandfather of two granddaughters, Sarah Ann Kovalesky of North Newton, Kansas and Emily Suzanne Kovalesky of Collegeville. Victor was preceded in death by eight brothers, Julius, Stanley, Thomas, Walter Jr., Leo, Theodore, Hubert John, Daniel Kovalesky, and three sisters, Stella Mable, Helen Gimbus, and Lottie Liberatore. He is survived by four sisters, Mary Martinez, Vanport; Dolores Summers, Beaver; Anna Kovalesky, Midland; and Patricia Grzebienowski, Poland, Ohio along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2 until 6 p.m. in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave, Midland. A funeral mass will be officiated by Rev. Michael L. Yaksick at St Blaise Parish, Midland, Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:30 am. Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
