Walter M. Flenner

Walter M. Flenner, 84, of Ohioville passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley, Beaver with his family at his side.

Born October 15, 1931 in Raccoon Township, he was the son of the late Melvin and Margaret Zinkan Flenner. A resident of Ohioville since 1957, he had served his community for over 50 years as a self-employed contractor with Flenner Construction. A proud veteran of the US Army, he served on the front lines during the Korean War, was a member of Four Mile Presbyterian Church and was a member of both the American Legion Post 261 and VFW Post 5945 of Beaver Falls. Walters’s greatest passion and his favorite activities were his family and the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Gina Hastwell Flenner, two sons, Walter (Patti) Flenner, Brighton Township, Eric (Laurie) Flenner, Los Angeles, CA, one daughter, Debra Flenner, Ohioville, a stepson, Shawn Hastwell, Ohioville, a sister, Mary L. Morgan, Brighton Township, four grandchildren, Alan (Robin Bortner) Flenner, Mallori (Josh) Diamond, Benjamin Flenner, Harry McClements III, a cherished great-granddaughter, Cecilia Louise Diamond as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrna L. Daman Flenner in 1990, two brothers, Charles F. and Leroy Flenner, and a sister, Emma Reese.

As per Walter’s wishes, visitation and funeral services were private. A private interment took place at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown with full military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit. Arrangements are being conducted by the Noll Funeral Home, 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
