Walter L. “Sonny” Steff, 78, of Ohioville, passed away with his family at his side, Sunday, March 14, 2021.
Born January 26, 1943, he was the son of Walter L. Steff, Sr., and Carmella Porto Steff. Walter was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army and had formerly worked for Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, ultimately retiring from International Mill Service. He was very active within the community, having served as an Ohioville councilman for 38-years, and as a member of the St. Anthony Club, Sportsman Club of Midland, VFW, and the American Legion. Walter was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish where he served in the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and watch Steeler’s football, but most of all, spend time with his family, especially during summer vacations in Ocean City, MD.
Walter will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 54-years, Judy Mancini Steff; children, David (Amy) Steff, and Lisa (Keith) Hohenshel; cherished grandchildren, Christian and Anthony Steff, and Olivia and Nicholas Hohenshel; brother, Phillip (Lynne) Steff; sister, Theresa (Charles) McShane; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many close friends and very dear neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bill Blakemore.
Friends will be received Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Blaise Parish, Midland, followed by interment at Beaver Cemetery.
