Wayne Stanley Barnes, 77, of Midland, passed away early Sunday morning at East Liverpool Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 9, 1940 in New Brighton, he was a son of the late Wilbur Case and Velma Clarece Montgomery Barnes. A resident of Midland for the past 20 years, Wayne was a contractor most of his life until recently, where he worked as a grounds keeper at Blackhawk Golf Course, Chippewa Twp.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Thompson Barnes in 1996, one sister, Jerry Barnes, and his step-daughter, Lisa Thompson.
He will be greatly missed by his sons, James E. (Lisa) Barnes, Calcutta, OH, and David W. (Hope) Barnes, Ohioville; daughter, Lisa L. (Joseph Deem) Barnes, and step-daughter, Tatha (Neal) Smilek, Rochester; eight grandchildren, Kally, Josh, Brandon, Amber, Jimmy, Debbie, Nevada, and Deangelo; and four great-grandchildren, Aubrielle, Blaine, Jimmy, and Briden.
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m., conducted by Reverend Jeff Marquis, in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. A private interment will take place at Highland Cemetery, Ohioville. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
