William “Bill” Patrick Hodgen, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, after an extended illness. In the days leading up to his passing, he was surrounded by the love, comfort, and company of family and friends who meant so much to him.
Born on June 11, 1965, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, Bill was the son of the late Marilyn and Robert Hodgen Sr.
Bill was a 1983 graduate of Beaver Area High School and earned his degree in Business Logistics from Penn State University in 1987.
Though Bill faced health challenges throughout his life, he never allowed them to define him. He carried himself with quiet strength, resilience, and courage, meeting life’s hardships with determination and grace.
Bill treasured time spent with family and friends and found joy in life’s simple pleasures and shared traditions. He loved attending Penn State football games at his alma mater and cheering on the Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. Before his health declined, he especially enjoyed playing golf, a pastime that brought him both relaxation and camaraderie. Whether at a game, out with friends, or simply enjoying a good craft beer, Bill was happiest in the company of those he cared about most.
Bill built a career in business logistics that spanned many years and several companies. He began his career with Liz Claiborne in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, where he resided for several years and formed friendships that remained meaningful to him throughout his life. Since 2017, he had been employed by Elite Gasfield Services in Midland, Pennsylvania. Even as his health declined, Bill took great pride in his work and deeply valued the friendships, purpose, and sense of connection it continued to bring him.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Hodgen Jr., and by his faithful four-legged companion, Missy.
In addition to his many lifelong friends, whose love and loyalty made them family in every way that mattered, Bill is survived by his sister, Jan Hodgen of Hopewell, Pennsylvania; his nephew, Chris Hodgen and his wife, Kristen, of Beaver, Pennsylvania; his great-nephew, Hunter of Beaver, Pennsylvania; and a special friend, Felecia Wright whose renewed friendship meant a great deal to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beaver County Humane Society.
Bill will be remembered for his strength, courage, loyalty, and the deep love he had for the people in his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
