William Herman

William “Bill” Herman, 84, of Brighton Twp., passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 2, 2018, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

Born January 31, 1934 in Millvale, he was a son of the late James R. and Othelia “Honey” Herman. Bill retired from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland after a 30-year career as a millwright. In his spare time, he could be found watching sports, especially baseball and the Pittsburgh Steelers, or walking the beaches of Ft. Myers, FL with Marilyn. Bill was an active member of the YMCA and a faithful attendee of Saints Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver. He will be remembered by those who love him as the ultimate family man, always there to help when needed.

Bill will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, Marilyn F. Bruce Herman, Brighton Twp., and his two daughters, Cheryl (Lester) Reed, Vanport, and Tammy (John) Bonchi, Monaca Heights. It was his three gals who made him feel like the luckiest man in the world!

He will also be missed by two sisters, Darleen (Richard) McCafferty and Bonnie (Alan) Fritz; his cherished grandchildren, Jason (Rachel) Reed, Julie (Daniel) Garwood, Matthew (Christine) Makowiecki, Michelle Makowiecki, and Katherine Bonchi; along with great-grandchildren, Zaynah & Zachary William Makowiecki, Abigail Renee Makowiecki, and Carter Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Herman Wilkie, and brother, James Herman.

Friends will be received Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Robert Miller Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11:15 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver. Interment will take place at a later date at Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
